Check what your existing systems support
We review the POS and booking providers’ documented integration options. These may include an API, events sent between systems or data export and import.
What can be connected depends on provider capabilities and permissions. Work therefore starts with a technical review and a specific workflow, rather than a promise that every system can be integrated.
Define each system’s responsibility
A booking system can own the time and place, the POS system the transaction and a third system stock or customer details. The integration should make status understandable and provide staff with a shared reference for finding the right booking and payment.
- Match a booking to the correct order or transaction.
- Show when a change needs attention.
- Avoid duplicates when information is sent again.
- Make failed transfers visible and possible to follow up.
Test the complete flow with staff
We need to test ordinary purchases, changed bookings, cancellations and situations where a connection is temporarily unavailable. The person at the counter should understand what happened and what to do next.
An integration does not replace the POS provider’s responsibility for its checkout solution. Our work is scoped to the connections and workflows agreed for the project.
